Butch Cassidy (Sam Shepard) has survived the standoff with the Bolivian Army in 1908, and is living under the name James Blackthorn Bolivia. When he decides to return to the US to live out the rest of his life there, he sets out on the long journey home. But the chance encounter with Eduardo Apodaca (Eduardo Noriega), who has stolen 50.000$, thrusts Cassidy into one last adventure.
